fortos membership
be in the room
Fortos is a private collective of senior leaders running professional sports organizations.
Members join a small, carefully curated group of peers to step out of the spotlight and work through their most consequential decisions.
Membership is cross-sport and cross-league by design.
Forums are limited to executives and ownership principals at professional sports teams, clubs, and leagues across North America and Europe.
Why Members Join
Members use the group to uncover blind spots, pressure test decisions, and learn from others facing similar challenges at the same level of complexity.
The result is higher quality decisions, made with greater clarity and speed.

Frequently asked questions
Who does Fortos serve — is it for me?
Fortos is for senior leaders operating professional sports teams, clubs, and leagues. Members typically hold responsibility for the organization as a whole or major functions within it.
Why are Fortos groups cross-league and cross-sport?
Some of the most valuable insights come from peers tackling similar challenges from slightly different contexts. While a few leagues share knowledge internally, there’s no simple way to learn across the best of professional sports. Fortos creates that bridge.
Cross-league groups introduce new approaches, reveal limiting assumptions, and reinforce confidentiality by avoiding direct competition. And if you already head to the home ice 41 times a year, adding an F1 race or a baseball weekend doesn’t hurt.
What are the Fortos membership requirements?
Membership is designed for leaders with strong peer relevance, demonstrated domain experience, and a genuine appetite for growth.
How selective is Fortos?
Fortos is intentionally selective and not a fit for every leader. Beyond seniority, we look for leaders who value curiosity over posturing, lived experience over blanket advice, and who show up ready to engage honestly with peers who are navigating the same complexity as they are. Fortos is not about collecting contacts or traditional networking. It’s a space to think clearly, ask real questions, and get better together.
Do you meet online or in person?
Both. Monthly forums meet virtually, while members also gather in person twice a year for forum retreats.
What’s the time commitment?
Members commit to a two-hour forum each month, which is the core of the experience. Retreats add two in-person gatherings per year to maintain strong relationships, typically one to two days each, with optional micro-courses (<90 mins) offered throughout the year.
Are discussions confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is foundational to Fortos. Nothing discussed in groups may be shared outside the group. Members sign a confidentiality agreement, and any violation results in removal from Fortos without a refund.
How are peer groups formed?
Groups are intentionally designed to be cross-league to maximize learning and perspective. Members are matched based on comparable scope, complexity, and responsibility, with careful vetting to avoid competitive conflicts and to support long-term trust and working relationships.
What size are the groups?
Each peer group includes 8–12 members. Group size is deliberate, allowing for depth, trust, and meaningful contribution from every leader.
Can my organization sponsor my Fortos membership, and is this typically a professional expense?
Yes. A majority of Fortos members are sponsored by their organizations and treat membership as a professional development investment. For details on sponsorship or invoicing, please reach out.
Does Fortos work with larger, multi-team ownership groups?
Yes. In addition to core membership, Fortos partners with ownership groups that manage multiple teams and are focused on unlocking performance across their portfolio.
Does Fortos have an offering for mid-level or rising leaders?
Not at this time. Fortos membership is designed specifically for senior leaders, though we do support broader leadership development within ownership groups. As interest grows, we may introduce a distinct offering for rising leaders.
How does the Fortos invitation process work? What can I expect?
The process begins when you request an invitation. If there’s a strong initial fit, we’ll reach out, typically within 1 week, to schedule a 30-minute conversation.
That conversation helps us understand what you’re navigating in your role and explore whether Fortos is right for you.
When are invitations extended?
Fortos groups launch twice each year, in the spring and fall. Invitations are extended as groups are formed, beginning approximately 4-6 months in advance.
